Karen Cleary of Upper Marlboro, Maryland passed away on the morning of December 2, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents John L Cashell and Mae M Cashell (Daigle), sister Jean O’Connor and brother John Cashell (Ernest).
Karen is survived by her son Rodney (Butch) Cleary his companion Geri Dee, daughter Renea Quinn her husband P.T. (Bob), grandchildren Nicholas, Samantha, Shannon, Kristina, Katie and her daughter Robin Hynson her companion Tommy, grandchildren Jonathan, Nicole and Carolann.
She is also survived by nieces Laura. Kelley, Claire, Jami, nephews Craig and the late Charles (Chip) and many great nieces, nephews and friends.
Karen born in Washington, DC and raised in Mount Rainer, Maryland. She loved conversation and meeting new people as she worked as bartender for many years before taking a job at Rip’s in Bowie, MD as a sales clerk/cashier. After many years with Rip’s she decided to partially retire and took a part-time job at the gift shop at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD. She finally retired at the age of 77. Her hobbies included crocheting blankets, needle point/cross stitch pictures, find a word puzzles and playing bingo. She loved to travel and go shopping with family and friends. Karen really loved her pets that she has rescued and taken in over the years.
