On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Kay Gore, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence at Brightview Senior Living Community in Annapolis, MD due to complications of Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). Her beloved husband, Donald Barry Gore, predeceased (2014) her after nearly 50 years of marriage. She is survived by children, Steve Gore and wife, Laura, Don Gore and wife, Amy, Russell Gore and wife, Jill, and Tony Gore and wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Madison, Cami, Evan, Jordan, Megan, Morgan, Kinsey, Leila, and Brady. Kay was born January 12, 1946 in Greenbelt, MD. She was the second oldest of nine children to Dale and Mary Jernberg. She attended Duval High School, graduating in 1964. After graduation she worked in Washington, DC at The Freer Gallery of Art. In 1966, she married Barry and soon after started a family. In 1977, Barry and Kay moved from Lanham, MD to Gambrills, MD where Kay raised her four boys and later worked for the family business, J&G Products. Kay continued her career with Ferguson and retired in 2009. In 2016, Kay moved to Annapolis. Kay loved to travel, dine out with friends and family, read on the beach or catch a movie with a friend. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining at her home or at her beach condo. She was the ultimate hostess. She was a loving mother and loyal friend who was always there when she was needed most. She will be deeply missed by all. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on June 24, at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on June 25, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Dr., Crofton. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 13801 Georgia Ave Silver Spring, MD 20906. If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
