Kennedy Obunike Obah was born on May 2, 1970 to his father, late Chief Basil (Ichie Opaliko nu Ubulu) and his mother, Cecilia Obah in Uke, a small town in Anambra State. Kennedy spent his early life in Onitsha, then moved to Enugu to pursue his bachelor’s degree in public administration at Enugu State University of Technology. Shortly after graduating, Kennedy moved to Uganda and opened his own successful business named Donken’s. In Uganda, he met his wife Doreen, with whom he raised to children, Nedu and Chika Obah. In 2015, the family immigrated to the United States with the help of Kennedy’s sister, Uche Obah. He lived in the United States until his death on December 12th, 2023.
In life, Kennedy was an avid Manchester United fan who enjoyed the comradery of watching soccer games with his closest friends. He strode to help the less fortunate with what power he had, vowing to never evict a tenant for anything but dishonesty and greed. He often prayed for God to grant him the ability to help the people of the African continent.
Kennedy’s death was sudden and left a large void in the lives of his loved ones. He is survived by his children and widow, as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
