Kevin Donald Kibler

November 22, 1963 — February 21, 2025

Crofton

Kevin Donald Kibler, 61, of Crofton, MD, passed away at home on Friday, February 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Prince George's County, MD, on November 22, 1963—just two minutes after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Kevin grew up in Alexandria, VA, where he developed a love for the outdoors. He cherished family trips to Lake Anna, VA, where they would camp, boat, water ski, and fish. His passion for nature extended to hunting, hiking, canoeing, and even witnessing the Northern Lights. Later in life, he moved to Riverdale, MD, where he began his career at Wagner Roofing in Hyattsville as a roofing mechanic before advancing to project manager.

At the young age of 17, Kevin met the love of his life, Sherrie, at a place they fondly called "the moon"—a wooded area near a mall featuring a crater where friends would gather for bonfires and fun. They loved telling the story of how they "met at the moon," often leaving people amused by their unique beginning. The couple married in 1982 and welcomed their daughter before settling in Anne Arundel County in 1991. In 1997, their family grew with the birth of twin boys.

A highly skilled tradesman with an innate ability to fix nearly anything, Kevin was both knowledgeable and generous with his expertise. In the early '90s—during an ice storm—he founded his own roofing and general contracting company, American Tradesmen Contracting, Inc. Thanks to the support of a local builder who believed in him, Kevin’s business flourished across Crofton and expanded throughout Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County, Baltimore, and parts of Calvert County. His work spanned residential and commercial projects alike. Despite his success, he remained humble. When economic challenges arose during a recession, he made the difficult decision to dissolve his company and later worked as a project manager for his brother-in-law’s roofing and remodeling business.

Kevin was deeply devoted to his family and friends. A loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend—he was known for his selflessness and willingness to help anyone in need. He mentored many who wanted to learn a trade and always put others before himself. Outside of work, he found joy tinkering with muscle cars—especially his Camaro—maintaining his truck, and building model cars. Whether sitting under a tree with a fishing rod or escaping to the mountains for peace and solitude—or even enjoying time at the beach—Kevin embraced life's simple pleasures. He had an infectious warmth that made others feel good; bringing smiles wherever he went was second nature to him.

Kevin is preceded in death by his father Emerald "Joe" Beidelschies. He is survived by his mother Susan Beidelschies; brothers Joe Beidelschies (Jackie) and Lehr Beidelschies; sister Michelle Richardson (Herk); beloved wife Sherrie (Ingram) Kibler; daughter Katrina Riley (Kyle); sons Nicholas Kibler and Ryan Kibler.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Dawna Tucker (Scott), nephews Austin Tucker and Maxwell Tucker (Johanna); sister-in-law Julie Griffith (Dean D'Eugenio), nephew Josh Griffith; niece Jamie Jarrard (Chandler).

His loved ones will forever look toward the sky for that shining star knowing he is watching over them. Though deeply missed beyond words can express—they take comfort knowing he is now free from pain.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at a later date; details will be announced when available.

Psalm 147:3 – "God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
