Kimberly Ann McKnight peacefully passed away July 20, 2021 surrounded by family after a brief but courageous fight with brain cancer.
Kim was a one-of-a-kind soul whose laugh and smile lit up any room she walked into. She was born in Bay City, Michigan, briefly raised in Standish, Michigan and soon after moved to Maryland. She worked in Real Estate and as a Paralegal in and around Annapolis, including her family’s business where she met many friends that turned into family.
When she was young, she spent her summers in Standish, Michigan surrounded by dozens of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, which remained some of her fondest memories. She enjoyed frequent trips back to the area and planned on visiting this summer.
Kim had a passion for animals, tie-dye, and the local Maryland Renaissance Festival. On any given fall weekend, you could find her dressed up and joyously chatting and laughing with friends and strangers, alike. She was loud and opiniated, but she was honest and loyal. She had a genuine zest for life and an infectious laugh that couldn’t help but make those around her smile. She loved fiercely those that were important to her and added a light that cannot be forgotten.
Kim would greet every day with an optimistic outlook and anyone that knew her can surely envision her singing “Good morning!” in her most joyous voice, each and every morning. She loved every sunrise, she loved her birthday and she loved her friends and family so very deeply.
Kim is proceeded in death by her Step-Father, John Dwyer, Sr. of Davidsonville, Maryland; her Step-Mother, Francis McKnight of San Antonio, Texas; and her Two Dogs, Bailey and Buca. She is survived by her Mother Patricia (Kolevar) Dwyer of Annapolis, Maryland; Father Dennis McKnight of San Antonio, Texas; Brother Greg McKnight of Huntingtown, Maryland; Sister Jennifer Dwyer Dent of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Sister Barbara (Dwyer) Coffey of Nokomis, Florida; Sister Sandra (Dwyer) Sberro of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; Brother John Dwyer, Jr. of Davidsonville, Maryland; Brother Sean McKnight of San Antonio, Texas; Brother Ryan McKnight of San Antonio, Texas; Ten nieces and nephews; many devoted aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved pets, Callie and Harper.
A private Celebration of Life will be planned and details will be released, as they become available. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ASPCA and/or the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
