Lester Ira Boring II

Lester Ira Boring, II, known as Les to family and friends, passed away suddenly on February 28, 2024. Born on June 1, 1949, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Lester Ira Boring, Sr. and Barbara Boring (née Tompkins), Les was the youngest and only boy of six girls.  He is a graduate of Laurel Valley High School and a college graduate of Pacific Western University (Hawai'i).

Les married the love of his life Laura on Christmas Eve 2000. Together they built a life in Maryland along with their dog Paisley.

Les was the father of Renia Gray and grandfather to Delaney and Colin Gray of Queenstown, Maryland. He was the son-in-law of Lou and Nancy Sehovski, brother-in-law to Stephen Sehovski of Pittsburgh, Julie Romano (Brian) of New York and uncle to Cole Sehovski of Pittsburgh as  well as an uncle to many other nieces and nephews.

He proudly served in the Army, completing three tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1983 as a Master Sergeant and went on to pursue careers with Whitaker Communications, Loral Aerospace, Hughes LAN Systems, EDS, and Accenture as well as starting several small companies in the secure communications area. For the last 5 years, he was a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in their Crofton office.

Les was a friend to everyone. He loved meeting and talking to new people.

When time permitted, he loved to be on his boat, or sitting by the water at the Fleet Reserve Club enjoying his favorite cocktail, a Jack and Coke.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 6-8pm. Interment will be private at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland.
