Letitia "Tish" L. Kidwell (68) of Crofton, MD passed away on November 8, 2024, peacefully after a very brief illness, surrounded by family and friends.
Tish, a woman whose presence lit up every room she walked into, leaving all who knew her a little warmer, a little wiser, and a lot happier. Tish’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and the beauty of unapologetic honesty. She was the friend who told you the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, yet somehow still had you laughing seconds later with her sharp, dry humor that she delivered with the timing of a pro.
Tish found joy in the open sea, in the rhythm of rock ‘n’ roll, and in the laughter of her precious grandbabies. When she retired after 32 years at Gilbane Building Company—a career where she was both deeply respected and undeniably knowledgeable—her first thought was her family. She embraced being a grandmother with open arms, relishing every moment with her beloved twins. She cherished every laugh, every cuddle, and every milestone, as if it were the greatest treasure life could offer.
Beyond her family, Tish treated everyone she loved as part of her own. She built countless friendships over the years—true, deep, and lasting connections that each became their own type of family. Her friendships were steadfast, grounded in loyalty and genuine care, and those bonds became lifelines, giving strength and comfort to everyone who had the privilege of being in her circle. She was always ready with a helping hand, often bringing not only her care but her remarkable knowledge and skills, whether fixing up a home, sharing life advice, or simply lending an ear. Tish wasn’t one to wait for others to fix things for her—she tackled problems head-on, knew her way around a toolset, and refused to be underestimated, even by the toughest of mechanics. Tish loved deeply, laughed fully, and embraced every moment with joy and authenticity. She was a rock, a confidante, a guide, and a source of unwavering support.
To say goodbye to Tish is not easy, nor is it truly possible because she has left such a lasting imprint on all of us. Her laughter echoes in our memories, her kindness remains in our hearts, and her spirit endures through each of us.
She is survived by her daughter Katelyn (Erik) Kerpentenoglu, brothers, Daniel Killerlane, Patrick (Greta) Killerlane, neices, Claudia, Keira, and Erica (predeceased) Killerlane, and great nephew LJ Nocente, Jr., and countless chosen family and friends.
