Died peacefully in her sleep on August 31, 2018. Born in Paris, France, she moved as an infant to her father’s home in Thessaloniki, Greece, where she lived with her family until coming to the United States in 1955. She was kind and loving to her children who survive her, Irena McGrath (Terrence), Steven Swerdlin (Laura), and Tammy King (Jeff), her five grandchildren; Megan, Kerry, Sierra, Scott and Jason and to her great granddaughter, Amelia. She is also survived by her best friend and sister Louiza Weintraub who lives in Virginia Beach.
Following years of travel across the globe, and shorter weekend visits to Ocean City, MD, Liana and her husband retired to the Costambar community in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Liana became very involved in her community and served terms as President of the resident association there.
