Linda graduated from Northwestern High School in 1965 and received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1969.
While at the University of Maryland, Linda met John D. Horrocks and they married on July 26, 1969. Together, they had two daughters, Karen and Betsy, and moved to Bowie, MD. Linda most valued spending time with her family. So, she spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, caring for her daughters when they were young.

While working full time and caring for her family, Linda earned a Master of Science in Curriculum Development from Bowie State University.
Linda changed careers in 1997, returning to the University of Maryland, College Park to manage the office and student interns for the Undergraduate Student Legal Aid Office. After retiring, Linda enjoyed caring for her granddaughter Rosie and her dog Stewie. She also enjoyed genealogy, British mystery series, and feeding all the birds and stray cats in the neighborhood.
She is remembered with love by her beloved husband of 53 years, John; daughters Karen Horrocks and Betsy Reed; son-in-law Michael Reed; granddaughter Rosie Reed, and brother Fondren McMillan Jr.
