Lorraine Mary Sotack, 84, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2025, after a brief illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Stephen Thomas Sotack; sons Stephen Andrew Sotack and Robert Andrew Sotack and his wife Vicki; and grandchildren Nathan Andrew Sotack and Jaiden Noelle Sotack.
Born on November 20, 1940, in Eckley, Pennsylvania, to Andrew and Susan Falatko, Lorraine graduated from Freeland High School before beginning her career at Tung-Sol in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Following her marriage in 1965, she and Stephen relocated to the Washington, DC area, making their home in Crofton in 1972. After dedicating her early years to raising her two sons, she began working at Creative Gardens Nursery School, where she spent many fulfilling years. Throughout her time in Crofton, Lorraine touched countless young lives in the community, sharing the same warmth and devotion she showed her own children.
A devoted member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church since the mid-1970s, Lorraine actively volunteered in numerous church activities throughout the years.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lorraine's life at a funeral service on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Crofton. Burial at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville followed by a repast in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Lorraine's memory.
