Marc’s Journey
Marc D. Williams was born in Washington, DC to Beatrice Williams and the late William H. (Bill) Williams Jr. on August 3, 1971. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore Maryland.
Marc accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1979 and was baptized at Seat Pleasant Baptist Church. He attended private and public schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland and graduated from Largo High School in 1988. Marc earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Business and Science at the University of Maryland College Park on August 27, 1993. Immediately following graduation, he worked for the Federal Government and the Greenbelt Marriott.
Marc had several years of entrepreneurship. He shared his knowledge and skills with a few companies until he landed at Children’s National Medical Center in the Foundation Office, in 2005, as the Finance and Budget Manager. After years at the Foundation, Marc was looking for a new challenge and he transitioned to the Grants office and became the Lead Grants Financial Administrator. Marc was always looking for ways to grow personally and professionally and, last year decided to move to Anne Arundel Medical Center as the Contract and Grants Administrator.
While employed at the Greenbelt Marriott, Marc met the love of his life Jeaneen Nicol Newman. After dating for 18 months the two were married on August 24, 1996, they were virtually inseparable for the entire 25 years of marriage. They both have a love of good food and would travel as far North as Massachusetts for the best Cape Verdean food and as far South as New Orleans to eat real Creole food. Outside of being a connoisseur of fine foods, Marc enjoyed cooking; and mastered the art of cooking paella. He decided to become a baker of all the sweets that he enjoyed. Marc started with brownies and then went on to bake all kinds of breads. He enjoyed golf, kayaking, pool, karate, fishing, and time on the shooting range. He loved all motor vehicles, but had a passion for motorcycles and the feeling of being free while riding.
To cherish his loving memories, Marc leaves his devoted wife of 25 years Jeaneen Nicol Newman-Williams and their beloved fur babies, Dillinger and Bebe; mother, Beatrice Williams, sister, Erica L Staggers (Eric), and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
