Margaret M. Herman

Margaret Mary Herman, 87, passed away on June 12, 2019. Beloved wife to the late Charles Louis Herman, loving mother of Victoria M. Herman, Elizabeth H. Miller and the late Christine A. Lee; cherished by her grandchildren Renee and Stephanie and her son-in-law Stephen the “Favorite”.

Margaret was an active member of her community. Margaret, a self-proclaimed professional volunteer, taught Red Cross First Aid and was a Girl Scout leader, trainer, and council organizer.  She was a member of the Bowie Regional Arts Vision Association (BRAVA) to build the Center for Performing Arts in Bowie, past president of the Bowie Community Theater Group.  In recent years, Margaret served on the City of Bowie Arts Committee, the Greater Bowie Democratic Club and the revived BRAVA, working to expand the arts in Bowie.  Most importantly, Margaret was a spirted member of the Southern Comforters Quilt Group.

Margaret will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her husband Charles, the love of her life, her many friends and her community.

Her family will receive friends Thursday June 20, 2019 at Beall Funeral Home 6512 NW Crain Highway, Bowie, MD 20715, from 5pm to 8pm.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am Friday June 21, 2019 at Sacred Heart Chapel 16501 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715. In lieu of flowers the family request that you honor Margaret by donating to the Bowie Food Pantry, 2614 Kenhill Drive, Suite 134, Bowie, MD 20715 or a charity of your choosing.
