Margaret Elizabeth White

Margaret E. (Betty) White, 95, died peacefully the evening of December 2, 2021 in Bowie, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph A. Norris, Sr. and Grace B. Norris (Whalley) and sister Dorothy Norris.

Betty leaves behind her daughter Suzanne E. White and brother Joseph A. Norris, Jr.

She is also survived by nieces Nancy Walter and Terri Wood and nephew Joseph A. Norris, III and the late Charles A. (Chip) Norris, cousins and friends.

Betty was born March 18, 1926 and raised in Washington, D.C. She graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy and spent her working career at Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company. During World War II, she worked as a “Canteen Girl” keeping our troops company.

She was a talented and prolific portrait and still life artist, skillfully often portraying people who touched her life and animals for which she had a lifelong fondness.

She will best be remembered for her independence, quick wit, beauty, charm, spirit and incredible zest for life.
