Maria Antonette Foxe was born on September 15th, 1947 in Washington D.C. She was born to the late William B. Williamsand Josephine Speed Williams. She was also raised by her stepfather, the late Leroy Chambers. Maria was the second of eight siblings. She departed this life peacefully on May 11th, 2020.
Maria received her education in the public schools of Washington D.C. After high school, Maria worked as a waitress at Hot Shoppes restaurant, where she met the love of her life, Oliver Foxe.
Maria & Oliver were married on May 8th, 1971 in Washington D.C. The couple enjoyed forty-nine wonderful years of marriage before the lord called them both home. Maria & Oliver didn’t have any biological children but raised her nieceand nephew, Patricia Trammell Williams and William (Billy) Williams.
Maria was a dedicated servant of God and believed in the Power of the Blood of Jesus. Maria & Oliver were the Prayer Warriors for the family. They were faithful members of Hope Christian Center Church in Laurel, Maryland, Bishop Henry Jackson, Pastor.
Maria retired from the D.C. Housing Authority after having worked 30 years as a Manager. Maria loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Everyone loved her cookies and cakes. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during family trips and reunions.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents William B. Williams and Josephine Williams Chambers; her stepfather Leroy Chambers; her husband Oliver Eugene Foxe; and her brother William B. Williams Jr.
Maria leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters, Patricia Haythe (Lewis) of Gaithersburg, MD, Deborah Glass of Laurel, MD, and Inga Crarey of Bowie, MD; four brothers, Tyrone Williams of Philadelphia, PA, Leroy Chambers (Ann) of Bordeaux, France, Elroy Chambers of Forestville, MD and Joey Chambers (Jenny) of Germantown, MD; three brothers-in-law,Pastor Charles P. Foxe (Betty) of Florence, SC, Thomas Foxe of Houston, TX and Ernest Foxe of Lamar, SC; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Carey (John) and Doris Jean Epps (Pastor Albert) of Florence, SC and Joan Shipley of Bowie, Md; one Uncle, Jonathan Speed of Bowie, MD, two Aunts, Shirley Colon of Lakeland, FL and Sara Beckham of Mason, OH; special girlfriends, Sheila McDonald and Olga Busey; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
