Marion Philipp Anderson

Marion Philipp Anderson, 84, passed away on July 22, 2018. Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Arne H. Anderson, loving mother of Kenneth C. Anderson, Gail Y. Stone (Randy); cherished by her grandchildren Luke, Kate, Stacey, and Eddie; great-grandchildren, Ava, Nicholas, Davina, and William.

A long-time resident of Bowie, MD.  Mrs. Anderson was born in East Stroudsburg, PA and raised in Woodside, New York. She attended and graduated from the High School of Music & Art in New York City. In 1955 Marion graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Besides her nursing career Marion was an active member of her community and church. She was a member of the Bowie Sounds of Music, the Bowie Senior Chorale, and the League of Women Voters. She served on several church councils, participated as an assisting minister and Lector. She also coordinated the Bethany Fellowship at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Silver Spring which, among other things, ministered to the elderly for weekly visits in hospitals and nursing homes.

 Marion enjoyed her family, her friends, singing, dancing, bridge, tennis, and traveling with Arne.

Marion will be remembered for her devotion to her family, community, and husband Arne, the love of her life.

Family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy (Rt 3 South), Bowie MD. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to the American Association of Kidney Patients., 14440 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL 33613 or at aakp.org
