In Loving Memory of:
Mary Louise Steger Gray passed away on January 7, 2022 after a short illness. She was born in Hagerstown, Maryland on October 8, 1921 and resided in Maryland her entire life
She worked at Kodak during WWII processing war films. It was there that she met and married her husband Joseph Irwin Gray on June 24, 1945.
Mary loved taking care of her family and her passion was shopping. She helped raise her granddaughters Christine Louse, Heather Marie and Kathleen Alba while their parents worked. She loved her grandchildren and her 3 great grandchildren, Jocelyn Antoinette; Madelyn Grace and Walker Raymond and was affectionately called MeeMaw. She was a great cook and did all the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter cooking for the entire family. She was a selfless, loving person who liked to do things for others. Later in life she took great joy in short road trips with her son-in-law Paul Blechinger and her daughter Cheryl. They often went to North Beach, MD where they would always stop and buy ice cream at the local Hershey Ice Cream store. Her favorites were banana splits and butter pecan.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Pearl, her husband, Joseph, her brother Joseph and sister Marianne.
She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Blechinger of Bowie, MD; Janice Loretta of Kissimmee, FL; a son Douglas Wayne of Port Republic, MD and a son, Joseph Irwin of Bowie, MD.
