Mary Claire Wagner O'Berry, age 92, formerly of Lanham, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Azalea Estates Assisted Living of Gonzales, in Gonzales, Louisiana.  Born November 22, 1927, in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Gertrude Wagner.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Emory Harold; three sons, Charles Michael (Mickey), Jeffrey Alan and Robert Andrew; her sister Gwendolyn (Pat) Appel and her brother Clinton Wagner.

Mary enjoyed traveling, reading, crafting, volunteering at church, spending time with her family, and was an avid fan of the daytime drama, General Hospital.  She worked for United Clay and later for the National Security Agency where she retired in 1987 after many years of service.  She was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary at St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church in Lanham, Maryland.  After she retired from the NSA, she relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where she lived for nearly 30 years, until she moved to be with her daughter and family in Louisiana in 2016.  She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida, where she was a dedicated parishioner, volunteering in many capacities, including the Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary is survived by her son Daniel Edward (Rose) of Hagerstown, Maryland, her daughter Sandra Lee (William) Hineman of St. Amant, Louisiana, and her daughter-in-law Nancy O'Berry of Palatka, Florida; grandchildren Jennifer Lynn O'Berry, Robert Patrick O'Berry, and Cheryl Amelia Riedlinger; great-grandchildren Mackenzie O'Berry, Kaitlyn O'Berry, Kelcie Riedlinger, Hunter Riedlinger and Hayden Riedlinger.  She is also survived by four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary had many devoted, caring friends no matter where she resided.  They all had a special place in her heart.  She spoke of them often about the amazing trips or adventures she shared with them and how truly blessed she was to have them in her life.

Visitation will be held at Saint Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church in Lanham, Maryland, on Friday, September 4, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Holy Mass at 11 a.m.
