Mearle E. Jensen

Mearle Elaine Jensen passed away after 90 vibrant years, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in her Bowie, MD home, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Albert J. Jensen, loving mother of Evelyn Thrift, of Bowie, MD and Susan Goodnite, of Millersville, MD. Proceeded in death by parents Arthur and Mary Ehlenberger.

Mearle was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. She married the love of her life, Albert, in June 1955. They moved to Bowie in 1966 with their two daughters. Mearle devoted her life to her family, caring and loving her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She had a long and successful career as advertising manager of several impactful publishing companies and newspapers, including the Bowie Blade and Journal newspapers and Book Crafters publishing. Her favorite job, when asked, was raising her two daughters.

Mearle’s home was always full of love, good food, adventures, crafts, advice, support, and lively conversation. She will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will live on in those who had the honor of knowing and loving her.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 2pm to 3pm at Beall funeral home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rt. 3 South), Bowie, MD, where a memorial service will take place at 3pm. Interment private. Please view and sign the family’s guestbook at: www.beallfuneral.com
