Michael K. Spurrier, 82, of Bowie, MD passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Born March 14, 1942 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Spurrier of Brunswick, MD.

Mike grew up in Brunswick, MD and moved to Bowie in 1969 where he and his wife, Pat, raised their five children. He worked as an offset plate maker for the Government Printing Office for 39 years. In his younger years he enjoyed going to the beach, golfing, bowling, and watching sports. He moved to Crofton in 2021 and found enjoyment in card games, bingo, and events with friends in his community. He enjoyed spending time with his companion, Barbara Wenner. He especially loved the large family gatherings that he would most often host.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Spurrier, who he was married to for 46 years until her death on June 13, 2011, and his brother, Steve Spurrier, who passed away in 2018.

He is survived by five children, Kristina Williams and husband Lt. Col. George, USMC (ret) of Fredericksburg, VA, Del Spurrier of Olney, Mike Spurrier and wife Bonnie of Glen Burnie, Tim Spurrier and wife Maria of Gambrills, and Wendi Clough and husband Scott of Annapolis; brother, E. Linwood Spurrier and wife Shirley of Rosemont; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 3 pm, at New Hope United Methodist Church, 7 South Maryland Avenue, Brunswick, MD. Reverend Katie Hamilton will officiate.

Inurnment will be private at a later date.
