Michelle Bertha Terese Tolbert
Michelle Bertha Terese Tolbert was born on November 14, 1964 in Washington, D.C. and departed this life on March 17, 2023 at the University of Maryland Medical Center after suffering post-COVID complications. Born to the late Geraldine Yvonne and the late William Noyd Tolbert, Jr., she attended Prince George’s County Public Schools, graduated from Fairmont Heights High School, and attended the University of the District of Columbia.
Michelle worked as an office assistant at Maryland National Memorial Park where she advanced to Office Manager and Acting General Manager prior to becoming a government contract Personnel Security Specialist for the Department of the Navy Personnel Security Appeals Board.
Michelle enjoyed giving family members what they considered the perfect gifts. Her love of sports was infectious. She introduced many family members to baseball, hockey, and NASCAR. She loved the Washington Capitals so much that she treated herself to season tickets with seats that were considered hockey fan goals—two end seats to the right of the net a few rows up from the glass. She generously shared those tickets so that family members could experience the excitement.
Michelle was preceded in death by her loving parents; nieces Tonza Ihre Hayes and Jacquia (Baby Girl) Tolbert; and sister-in-law Jacklin M. Hayes Tolbert. She is survived by her siblings: Brian D. Tolbert, Sr., William N. Tolbert, III, Brigitte A. Tolbert, and Jacqueline Holden; a loving second cousin and surrogate sister, SaBrina Price-Nelson (Anthony); nephews and nieces: Brian Jr., William IV (Brittney), Brittany, Brea, Brett, and Germaine Tolbert, Timothy Holden, Sharron Wright and Layla Watkins; great-nephews: Kayden and Jaiden Tolbert, and Greyson and Ahmad Holden; an adoring aunt, Doris T. Hite; uncles, aunts, many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
