MILDRED DORIS MEYER MCKNEW

(AGE 92)

Mildred entered into peaceful eternal rest from her home on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Known as Millie to those closest to her, she spent her years as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated homemaker and community member and volunteered for many years at the Lutheran Mission Society in Annapolis. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her loved ones. She will be remembered as an example of kindness and grace. She had a quiet strength, never voiced complaint, was patient and thankful in this life, until God called her home.  She was proceeded in eternal rest by her husband, Clinton McKnew and her son, David McKnew. Mildred is survived by children, Earl McKnew (Lisa) and Susan McKnew McAlley (Kevin). She is also survived by grandchildren, Katrina McCoy McKnew, Tristian McKnew, Elizabeth McKnew Sloan, Matthew McKnew, Stephanie Fennell, and Breeana McAfee. Furthermore, she is also survived by great grandchildren, Gavin, Kirstie, Jacob, James, Taylor, Autumn, Ashton, Erica, Kimberly, Evan, Kristen and Zachery.  She is also survived by numerous other friends and relatives who will cherish the memories she leaves behind.

Services for Mildred will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018, at the First Lutheran Church of Bowie, 12710 Duckettown Road Bowie, Md. 20719, beginning at 9am.  In lieu of flowers, Mildred’s wishes were that donations be made to the church.
