Millicent “Millie” Peak, 72, of Port Saint Lucie, Fl, passed away on January 22, 2024 after a long battle with dementia.
Millie was born on May 23, 1951 to Gladys Knight and Leonard Morris in Manchester, Jamaica. After Millie graduated from Beaumont High School, she went on to study teaching at West Indies College, and graduated in 1977.
After graduating with a degree in teaching, she decided to migrate to America for better work opportunities. Once she arrived to New York city, she decided to pursue a career in nursing, and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
She married George Robert Peak, and they had three children: Seketha Monique, Shana Kristina, and George Robert.
Millie worked for years as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), and enjoyed attending church, gardening, cooking, and caring for others.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, George Peak. She is survived by her three children and grandchildren (Ashton Josiah, Dahlia Rose and Sydney Ann).
Services will be held at Fort Lauderdale Lighthouse Seventh-Day Adventist Church, at 441 SW 27th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, on February 4, 2024. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, with the service to begin at 11:00AM.
