Minnie Jane Riley

 

Mrs. Minnie Jane Riley was born in Newton Grove, North Carolina on December 15, 1928, to Mr. Henry and Mrs. Annie Raynor Monk.  She attended school in Sampson County.  Once she graduated from high school she relocated to Philadelphia, PA, where she met Mr. Harold Riley.  They were joined in Holy Matrimony on August 31, 1969 and remained together until his death on March 27, 2006.  After his death, her health declined and she moved to Maryland on June 26, 2014, so that her niece Minnie Ashford could care for her.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving. husband, Mr. Harold Riley; her parents, Mr. Henry and Mrs. Annie Raynor Monk; her sister, Mrs. Eunice Monk Robinson; her brother, Mr. Joseph Henry Monk; and two nephews, Mr. Paul A. Robinson, Sr. and Mr. Bennie Martin Robinson.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Mr. Cleophas Monk (June); two stepchildren, Mrs. Yvonne Brown and Mr. Jerry Riley (Marva); four nieces, Mamie Simmons (Norwood), Marie Dunn (Pete), Minnie Ashford (Adolph), and LaShonda Morrisey; three nephews; Ernest Robinson (Rhonda), Francis Robinson (Sheila), Henry Robinson (Theressa); and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

GOD saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so HE put HIS arms around you and whispered “Come to ME.”  A golden heart stopped beating and hard working hands at rest, GOD broke our hearts to prove to us HE only takes the best.

 

Don’t cry for me, I’m not gone.  My soul is at rest, my heart lives on.  Light a candle for me and hold on to my memory, but save your tears for I’m still here by your side through the years.
