With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Muriel Ericksen. On August 11, 2022 at the age of 87, she was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ and her family were the most important things in her life. Muriel was surrounded by family and loved ones when she passed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rev. Alan Ericksen, her brother Edwin Jacob, and parents Morris & Emly Jacob. Muriel is survived by her five daughters, Sue Hailey, Linda Ericksen, Karen Ericksen, Donna Weidner, and Ruth Ericksen, along with her grandchildren Audrey Mix and Amanda Mix.
Muriel was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She served alongside her husband throughout his 50 plus years of ministry, spreading God's word in multiple parishes from the mid-west to the east coast, settling at Grace Lutheran Church in Bowie, MD in 1964. She is known for her deep and unwavering faith, unconditional love, sense of humor, myriad of talents, and being a warrior for God throughout her life until her death from aortic stenosis and uterine serous carcinoma. She was a loving, faithful, kind, generous, dedicated, humorous soul that will be greatly missed by ALL.
