Muriel Crowther (Heppenstall) Sproul passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at her residence at Regency Park Assisted Living. Muriel was born on April 5, 1929 in Yeadon, PA. She spent most of her years in Newtown Square, PA where she met the love of her life, James Donald Sproul and were married on April 7, 1973. Muriel and Don eventually moved to Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove VA. Muriel loved to cross stitch, play bridge, do jigsaw puzzles and play the organ. She and Don both attended St. George’s Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, VA. Upon the death of her beloved Don in October, 2011, Muriel moved into Regency Park Assisted Living in Gambrills, MD, where she enjoyed being a designated “Greeter”. Muriel is survived by her stepsons, Robert B. Sproul (Penny) Narvon, PA, Brian K. Sproul (Jacqui) West Chester, PA and Barry Sproul. She is also survived by her niece, Nancy E. Schrumm (Lew) Gambrills, MD and nephew, John S. Groupe IV (Terre) Alexandria, VA. Muriel loved her family and worshipped any and all time she got to spend with them.
A private burial is scheduled for December 3, 2020 at Quantico National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made in the name of Muriel Sproul to St. George’s Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA. 22401.
