Myrtle Mae (Haven) Weber (88) passed away on March 5, 2023 after enduring a lengthy illness with Diabetes, Parkinson’s disease along with Dementia. Myrtle was born September 24, 1934, to Andrew Havens and Agnes (Trail) Havens in Marion, VA. Her friends, family, and grandchildren knew her as Mae, Mom, Grandmother, Nani, and Maw Maw.
Myrtle moved to Maryland with her family and lived in several northern counties in Maryland before moving to Gambrills, MD in Anne Arundel County in the early 1950’s. She then met and married her husband, Edwin Weber, Sr. They raised their family in Gambrills, MD. Myrtle lived at Regency Park Assisted Living, in Gambrills, MD, for over a year, before moving back to her home in Odenton, MD, where she spent her final days. Hospice of the Chesapeake assisted with making her life comfortable during her last days, along with Visiting Angels, as well as her best friend and special caregiver, Shellie Shaffer. Her children and grandchildren provided love and comfort in the last days of her life.
Myrtle graduated from Arundel Senior High School in Gambrills, MD. Myrtle was a homemaker. She also held jobs as a bookkeeper and cafeteria service worker. She raised six children and cared for two additional foster children at different times over the years. Myrtle loved taking care of her children and grandchildren, and spending time with her great grandchildren. She loved gardening, bird watching, home decorating, cooking, and traveling. She had a large collection of bird figurines, snow babies, decorative plates, and dishes. She enjoyed music from the 1950’s and classic country, and watching Home and Garden Television and FOX news.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Weber, Sr., and her brother, Andrew Haven, Jr. She leaves behind two sisters, Laura Garrett and Stella Deal, as well as six children: Edwin Weber, Jr., Steven Weber, Barbara Weber, Dianne Weber Young, Mark Weber, and James Bynaker.
She has 12 grandchildren, Georgia, Suzanne, Amanda, Nicole, Jessica, Brittany, Edwin III, Steven Jr., Travis, Carl, Mark, Jr, and Ryan.
She has 12 great grandchildren: Stori, Seth, Vincent III, Nathaniel, Logan, Evan, Frank, Bryce, Evan, Kinley, Eli, and Nancy.
Myrtle will be buried at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035 following the service at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20715
In honor of her memory, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD.
