Nathaniel Edson Parrott

February 15, 1972 — September 15, 2020

Nathaniel Edson Parrott of Redwood City, CA passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2020 at the age of 48. He is survived by his parents, Edward N. and Patricia J. Parrott of Crownsville, MD, his siblings Neil (April) of Hagerstown, MD, Ned (Elizabeth) of Pasadena, MD, Nancy of San Francisco, CA, and two nieces and two nephews. Nathan grew up in Crownsville, MD, achieved Eagle Scout, and graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1994. A hard worker, Nathan paid his own way through school working the summers for moving companies.

A political science major, Nathan showed an interest in politics from an early age and helped manage the Anne Arundel County Executive campaign of John Garry shortly after college graduation. He continued his work in politics by serving as a Campaign Manager / Press Secretary on Capitol Hill, DC where he managed three separate congressional campaigns. In 1999 Nathan moved to the Austin, TX area where he worked for Dell Computer and founded and eventually sold a successful advertising agency. Nathan flourished in Austin, formed many lifelong friendships, and earned an M.B.A. at the prestigious Acton School of Business in 2006. Leveraging his experience, he went to Silicon Valley where he led sales organizations at various technology companies including Coupons.com, Zyme, SparkPost, and most recently Poll Everywhere where he was the VP of Sales.

Aside from his many academic and professional achievements, Nathan left a profound impact on all those he met. A man of many talents and interests, Nathan will be remembered as a cherished friend, father figure, son, brother, boss, confidant, spiritual advisor, business coach, political intellectual, counselor, dog lover, comedian, Seinfeld aficionado, and the list goes on. Of all the activities that brought Nathan joy, he achieved his greatest happiness when helping others. He loved without judgment, helped without expectations, encouraged with sincerity, and lifted others to see and be their best selves. A genuine, beautiful person, Nathan will be fiercely missed.
