Ninotchka Marlita Porter

May 15, 1941 — March 15, 2024

Capitol Heights

NINOTCHKA MARLITA PORTER, affectionately known as “Notch or Nino” was the oldest daughter of Owen Delta Davis, Sr. and Lillian Veronica Queen. She was born on May 15, 1941, at Freedmen’s Hospital in Washington, DC, raised in Prince George’s County and educated in their school system. Notch graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in June 1959.

She married Glenn Maurice Porter and they had four children, Kevin, Andrea, David, and Valencia Porter.

Ninotchka, faithfully and honorably, dedicated her life to serving her community. In 1977, she began her career with the Prince George’s County Government; first working for the Intergenerational Programs Division of the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, providing support and care to senior citizens. In 1995, she was promoted to a Community Development Assistant with the Department of Family Services. After 35 years of public service to Prince George’s County, she retired in 2012.

She had a big heart and a passion for things she loved, and she lived her life that way. Ninotchka was courageous and had an inner strength that sustained her to the end. She will be missed but her energy will remain. She left an unforgettable mark on those whose lives she touched.

Ninotchka leaves to cherish her memory: Beloved husband Glenn Maurice Porter; four children, Kevin Porter (India), Andrea Porter, David Porter (Renee), and Valencia Porter; sister, Dianne D. Robinson (Harry), twelve grandchildren, Tiffany Morris (Kevin), Kevin Porter (Lauren), Giovanni and Tommy Martin, Dalontae Hawkins, Kia Porter (Corey), Alexis Porter-Frazier (Calvin), Kindra McDonough (Brian), Eugene Wood (Dannetria), SyanPorter (London), Shelton Fantroy, and Gracen Eison, eleven great-grandchildren, and twelve nieces and nephews. She leaves behind friends and a large extended family.

Ninotchka was loved and adored by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by brothers Owen Delta Davis Jr., Joel Evans Davis Sr.; sister Valarie Michelle Davis; and niece Nikia Peters.
