Normadelle Emiline Hunt

Normadelle Emiline Hunt affectionately known as "Norma" made her peaceful transition on July 4, at her daughter’s residence in Bowie, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family.

Normadelle was born in St. Mary, Jamaica to the late William and Florence Dixon.  She spent her formative years in Kingston, Jamaica, and it was there that she met her husband, Sydney Hunt.  The union produced five children; Garth, David, Paul, Sheryll and Christopher. 

Normadelle’s family was her life’s work and joy.  She was intimately involved in all aspects of her children’s’ lives and always emphasized the importance of academic excellence.  She was immensely proud of their accomplishments.

She loved cooking and her Easter buns and Christmas cakes were legendary.

Normadelle spent her later years in the U.S., and thoroughly enjoyed her job as a Health Aid taking care of the elderly.  She was most happy when interacting with her grandchildren.  She loved buying them clothes and dressing them as twins.  She always looked forward to attending her granddaughter Stacy’s annual basketball competitions.

Normadelle is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Garth, Paul (Wendy), Christopher (Erica), and (Georgette), loving and adorable daughter Sheryll, brother Dennis,  ten grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Danielle, Stacy, Paul, Sean, Simone, Michelle, Samantha and Amira, and five great-grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her husband Sydney and her son David.

Rest well our beloved Normadelle.  Forever in our hearts until we meet again.
