On Tuesday September 4, 2018, Norman V. Maxwell was reunited with his wife. He was a devoted husband, loving father, devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, faithful friend, and dedicated worker. Norm shared his love, advice, guidance, and spirit with all. He loved his country and supported the military, wounded warriors, autism, and cancer services.
Born in Iowa in 1938 and then raised in Nebraska, Norm was the youngest of six boys. He was proud of his French and Scottish decent and recently purchased a full standard kilt in the Maxwell Clan Tartan. Norm enjoyed Mechanical Drawing classes in middle and high school and was well versed in American history.
Norm met the love of his life Irma (Bunny) Maxwell at the soda shop where she worked. Together they raised three children (Scott, Brenda, and Rhonda) and were married for 59 years. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, flying, and loved music. Norm recently picked up Saturday night Karaoke and readily shared his favorite music playlist with all.
Norm achieved a Master of Science in System Management and served as Project Manager and System Officer for the US Army and IT companies. He began his military career as a Bandsman in the Army National Guard and was quickly identified for officer candidate school. Norm served 22 years in the US Army with tours in Vietnam and Ethiopia and was stationed in Hawaii, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Washington State, and other. Faithful and dedicated to his mission, he worked over 30 years for Unisys and was still employed when he passed.
Heaven has truly gained a special angel that will continue to watch over us and guide us in the days to come.
Norm has not retired but transitioned to his next PROJECT!!!
Relax and breathe peacefully now. You will always be with us.
