Peggy was born and raised in Baltimore, Md. She is predeceased by her father John and her mother Helen (Zareva), her brother Alex and her beloved sister, Mary (Tuz), and her husband Richard. She is survived by her brother Nick Margaritas and nephew Alexander. She leaves her daughter Suzie Polechronis and favorite son-in-law Nick, her grandchildren Marissa and Gregory, whom she adored and was so proud. They were the light of her life.
Peggy owned the Frederick Lunch which she took over from her father, where she fed so many with love for so many years. She then went to work for the Social Security Administration as a Telecommunications Specialist where she retired at age 74. Peggy was known for her love of cats and her mission to care for the ferals and strays in the neighborhood.
Peggy has been a long-standing member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She loved her Greek community and worked at the festivals. She loved Holy Week and organized the readers for services. Her strong faith and generous spirit will be missed by so many.
Calling hours will be held Thursday October 5 from 5-7 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. All are invited to sign Peggy's online guestbook at collinsfuneral.com. Burial and funeral services will be held in Baltimore, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to the MSPCA of Maryland (she would love that!) https://support.mdspca.org/give/255333/#!/donation/checkout
May she rest in peace and may her memory be an eternal blessing.
