Mrs. Philomena Olagbomaren Modupe was born November 22, 1962 to the family of Late Pa William Asikhia Odiri and Late Mrs. Margaret Ekeke Odiri.
Mrs. Philomena was born in Umahia then Eastern Region of Nigeria now Abia state. She started her elementary school from there. Thereafter, in 1966 her parents moved to their home town Sobe (then the mid,-western region) now Edo state as a result of the Nigerian civil war. She continued her elementary educational in Saint Eugene's Primary School Sobe, Nigeria where she graduated in 1974 and obtained First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). She proceeded to Sobe High School Sobe, Nigeria where she graduated in 1980 and obtained West African School Certificate (WASC). She then went on to attend Teacher’s Training College (now Ekiadolo College of Education Ekiadolo, Benin City), Nigeria where she obtained Teachers Grade II Certificate in 1985. She got married to Late Mr. Sylvester Ighodaro Modupe and were blessed with two beautiful daughters (Hope and Patience). She later attended National Teacher's Institute Kaduna, Nigeria where she graduated with (NCE) in 1996.
Mrs. Philomena began her teaching career in 1991 with State Universal Basic Education Board, Lagos State in:
Dairy Farm Primary School, Sango Agege, Lagos Nigeria (1991-1996),
Ayeroju Primary School Oworonshoki, Lagos Nigeria (1996-2006),
Local Government Primary School Oworonshoki, Lagos Nigeria (2006-2022).
She worked passionately as an outstanding class teacher for many decades, nurturing lives and impacting knowledge. She got the Best Teacher's award in 2020 and Long Service award in 2021. She eventually retired in 2022.
Furthermore, she was converted and baptized in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1996. She attended School of Disciples and Bible College to learn and knew more about the Christian faith. All her life, she served God in children department. She was later ordained as an Assistant Pastor (AP) in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 2014.
She served God in various capacities including evangelizing to the lost souls and as a member of the children department; she was actively involved in the growth of the little minds by helping them grow in the knowledge of the word of God. She loves children and had a way of influencing positive change wherever she goes and contributing to the welfare of other people around her.
She would be remembered for her generosity, kindness, loving and caring person. She finally left this sinful world on the 3rd of July 2023. She left behind children, grandchildren as well as brothers and sisters.
