Rebecca M. Gary

March 26, 1952 — March 5, 2020

Rebecca Mae Gary entered into eternal rest on March 5, 2020.

Rebecca was born March 26, 1952 to the late Thomas Taylor Gary and Lula Mae Glover-Gary. She was raised in a Christian home and was taught the necessity of receiving Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She grew up in South Carolina and New Jersey and graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dalzell, South Carolina. She moved to the Washington, DC area shortly thereafter and secured work for the federal government. Rebecca started her service with the Department of Treasury and finished with the Department of Justice, working for a combined total of 38 years for them both.

She loved spending time with her family, cooking and baking homemade cakes, especially 7UP pound cakes, shopping, telling stories and laughing about old times growing up in New Jersey and South Carolina and also loved talking about the  loving relationship with  her grandparents.  She loved to talk on the phone, especially to her dear mother daily until her mom's passing and her siblings. Rebecca loved listening to gospel music, especially The Williams Brothers. She will always be remembered for her strength, love, generosity and as a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children: Nadine Gary, Mapkein Green (Alonzo Sr.), Kevin Williams (Mariah) and Scott Williams; nine grandchildren: Lattice Gary, Terrance    Gary, TyQuita Williams,   Alonzo                Green Jr.,   Alexus Green,  Aaliyah Williams, Tristan Williams, Skye Williams, and Zachary Williams; two great- grandchildren: Caleb W. and Aaveeri W.; two godchildren: Jaquan and Tia; her siblings: Betty Wilder, Jeanie Mae (Marvin),  Alice  (Jerry), Jeannette Alston  (Russell),  Margo Mathis  (Isaac),   Carlo  Gary  (Darinda),  Karen  Waddy,   Mildred Thompson (William),  John Gary (Ruby) and Linda Mobley (William}.
