Richard "Richy" Edwin Horton, III

Richard Edwin Horton III was born on October 31, 1973 and passed away on January 7, 2020.

Beloved son of Colleen Horton, Grandson of Eileen Chaffee Schultz, brother to Eric Horton, Nephew to Christopher and Amy Chaffee, Cousin to Amanda, Paige, Samantha and Amy Julia, Uncle to Aerek, Calista, Collen and Griffen, brother in law to Rena

A son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, brother in law, friend, fisherman “Toe Fisher”, hunter “Cave Man” and most of all a free spirit. Richy was the kind of person you just couldn’t help but love. 

He was the kind of friend whose bond lasted his lifetime. He was passionate, loving and fiercely loyal.  He had the ability to see straight through to you.  He was the pied piper with children and animals, they thought he was the coolest.  He was one of a kind and did everything his own way.  There are people who enter our lives in the most unexpected way and along the journey they take a piece of our heart with them, Richy did just that.  Like many people in our lives he had many qualities.  He was never punctual, marched to his own beat and hated being told what to do.   He loved his family and would make time for dinner, drinks or birthday parties; even if it took hours to get there. 

Richy unfortunately left us too soon.  He had more adventures in his short years than most do in a lifetime.  Let us remember his love, laughter, smile and power hugs that pierced your soul.  He is with so many of our loved ones that have gone before him.  We believe when he got to heaven, they were all there with open arms to greet him.  His mother Colleen, Grandfather Jack, Great Grandpa P, Uncle John and his father Richard.  As we leave here today and going forward it is with heavy hearts and a new guardian angel watching over us.  Richy has started his final journey with God.  Let us never forget his free-spirited personality and keep him in your prayers. We will miss you here on earth but will see you soon.
