Rita Lucchi

Rita Lucchi, 88, of Heritage Harbour, and formerly of Bowie, MD, died December 8, 2018 peacefully in her home.  Born on November 18, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Samuel and Mildred Berman, she attended Brooklyn College and Pohs Institute of Insurance.  On February 11, 1956, she married Col. Alvin Lucchi, who passed in 2003.  They had one child, Leonard, who, with his wife, Brenda, gave them two grandchildren, Michael and Elena.

Rita was fiercely independent, held conviction in her beliefs, and had a spirited sense of humor.  She was kind-hearted, generous, and thoughtful.  A proud member of the Democratic Party, she was never bashful about sharing her correct viewpoints.  She enjoyed following and discussing current events and also prized keeping active by joining in water aerobics.  Her family members will miss her dearly, but are all better off for the many life lessons she taught them.

Family and friends will be received at the BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy (Rt. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. and Monday, December 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Committal service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christa Beverly Foundation, 1200 Light Street, Unit B, Baltimore, MD 21230.
