Robert Contic resided in Odenton Md died unexpectedly due to a heart attack, on October 13, 2021, at the age of 64 yrs. Robert was such a lighthearted man, always wanting to have fun and saying silly things just to make people laugh. Robert was such a kind and generous and gentle man always wanted to help someone in need, always willing to give a helping hand to everyone. It gave Robert so much joy in his heart to give. He would rather give than to receive. Robert helping and giving to others is so countless you can’t count them all. He always had an encouraging word for someone, who was going thru a difficult time. Robert was also, a peacemaker, he did not like getting into arguments he would always try to keep the peace, no matter what. He would just let it go than to cause friction between people even when he had to suffer a loss. There are so many exceptional good qualities about Robert I just named a few. I honor Robert for the Exceptional good qualities he showed to so many people throughout his life.
Robert played softball on an, team called, Ford Aerospace/NASCOM, for many yrs. while he worked a NASA. His co-workers had a nickname for him “Bobo”. Robert also enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league with his wife for five yrs. and he had many perfect scores of 300. Also, he would bowl at leisure with friends and family. Robert also enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. Robert enjoyed playing various card games, with family and friends. Robert also had gone camping many times with the church, men and boys time of bonding, taking two of his nephews.
Robert was in many church plays, sometimes he would volunteer, and sometimes he would be commandeered by the co-pastor and he never said, no. He really enjoyed being in plays, it brought joy to his heart.
Robert also, like to travel, always a new adventure. Hawaii, Las Vegas, Missouri, two cruises, just to name a few.
Robert also, enjoyed cooking, he would be making melody in his heart, while cooking and he would even surprise his self when it tasted so good.
Robert also, became an expert at making, picture molding, chair rails, and crown molding he was quite a handyman. Robert was quite a whiz at math also.
Robert was a quick learner, fantastic memory, he could recall countless things in his memory. It was amazing the ability he had. Robert also was excellent proof reader. He amazed his self, he used to say I am not a writer, but I can proof read a letter or document and correct what was wrong with it. That was a gift and talent that Robert had.
Robert served our country, for 6 yrs. in the United States Navy. Robert was assigned to radio communications on two naval ships. Robert was a Vietnam Veteran with an Honorable Discharged. Robert had received many awards from the Navy. I give him Honor for serving our Country and I say thank you for keeping us safe.
Robert worked a NASA in Greenbelt Md for a total of 29 yrs. Which lead him into communications and he was a trouble shooter, for the space shuttles. The last 14 yrs. of the 29 yrs. working at NASA, he worked under General Dynamics C4S Systems as a Network Security Engineer. Robert also, held a Secret Security Clearance. When he was employed with General Dynamics. Robert had received many awards from NASA and General Dynamics.
Robert’s last adventure was working at Next Day Blinds as a Sales Consultant this was one of his many trades that he learned and he really enjoyed meeting new people and talking to them, he enjoyed what he did. Robert always gave 110% no matter what he did.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Contic of 30 yrs. of marriage, his father (predeceased) Tony Contic Sr., his mother Gail Simmons, his brothers, Tony, Richard and Frank and also his sisters, Patty, Gail Marie, Barbara and (predeceased) Rose. Brother-in-law Rob, and Ron, and Sister-in- law, Lynn. Step- son, Ray and Step- daughter Melissa, and two granddaughters, Monica and Mykia. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Robert lived his live to the fullest, he will be greatly missed by all.
