Robert Delahanty, 87, died on Saturday, May 9th at home with his family. He was born in Valley Stream, New York to Christine and Charles Delahanty on September, 27th 1932.
Robert was a veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart recipient. He also worked overseas for many years for Exon Mobile and Global Pacific.
Robert was survived by his children, Robert Thomas Delahanty, Carmen Ferrer, Darlene Selmer, and Thomas Delahanty. Robert was also survived by eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister and life long good friends. He was proceeded in death by Frances and his daughters Christine, Faith, and Hope.
Robert was a great father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all. He loved mustangs and was a true Irish gentleman. He loved his country and his flag. There was never a flag he drove by and didn’t salute. Services will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his daughters and wife.
