Roger Charles Long passed peacefully after being surrounded by loved ones on the night of Saturday, September 29, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Herbert Long. Roger is survived by his wife and lifelong partner Marcia (Rogers) Long, having shared 43 years together. He is survived by his children, Randy (Rachael) and Ricky (Erin) as well as his two beloved grandchildren Brayden and Brielle whom he loved dearly. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by his brother, Frank (Debbie); along with many other family and friends that will miss him deeply.
After graduating high school, Roger continued his baseball career at Prince Georges Community College. He turned down being drafted by the Kansas City Royals to fight for his country. Roger was given countless Medals of Honor during the time he served in Vietnam. His pride during this time was his MP status and training the canines that were his partners.
Roger continued his life being an all American bad ass. He was set in his old school ways and he did it his way. He had a passion for motorcycles, was an avid sports fan, and loved music. As much as he loved those things, his greatest joy was family and being Pappy.
