Sallie Mueller

Sallie Osborne Mueller aka Mom, MIL or Grammy passed away peacefully in Gambrills, Maryland on April 21, 2023 at the age of 75. A private memorial service is being planned.

Sallie was born in Indiantown, South Carolina to Walter Perry Osborne and Bertha Mae (Stone) Osborne. Sallie lived for many years in Ashland, Virginia where she proudly attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She eventually settled in Severn, Maryland where she lived for 32 years and was often heard to say, “I love my little house.” She worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Federal Express in their Columbia, Maryland call center and was a recipient of their Bravo Zulu award many times for her exceptional customer service. She went on to retire from Apria Healthcare in 2010.

Sallie was a friend to all those that she met and was often described as a “hoot,” a “pistol” and even referred to by friends as “Mustang Sallie” from the old Wilson Pickett song. She had a great smile and loved to laugh and she loved calls and visits from family and friends. Sallie could usually be found with a glass of iced SWEET tea next to her. She loved to cook for her family and her recipes are legendary. She enjoyed listening to music, gardening, playing solitaire on the computer, watching ice skating and working on crossword puzzles. Sallie, in true Maryland style, loved a really good crab cake!

Sallie is survived by her three children: Carol Savoy Stoolmiller, Tina Ginsburg and Robert Charles Mueller, her son-in-law, Robert Scott Stoolmiller (affectionately known as SIL) and her daughter in law, Jodi Mueller. She is survived by her 7 grandchildren: Darienne Savoy, Ryan Stoolmiller, Sierra Ginsburg, Kelsey Mueller, Robert Chance Mueller, Gage Mueller and Piper Mueller. Sallie was predeceased by her sister, Helen Fulton, but is survived by her remaining siblings Dorothy (Dot) Thompson, Bobbye Pauley, Leigh Stroud, Cindy Byers and Walter Osborne as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
