Woody, who was employed at Cherry Lane Electrical Service Inc., an Electrical Design Build Co. located in Laurel, MD passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 8:00 PM. His career also included a master printer for 20+ years for Columbia Planography (DC) and Lucas Brothers (Baltimore, MD). Woody was born in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania and resided in Bowie, MD for over 30 years. Woody was the beloved husband of Deirdre Dively, father to Wayne Anthony (TONY) and Daniel Alexander (Danny) & Angel Dively, grandfather to Jaxon, Kannon, And Beckitt, son of Elizabeth & the late Sherwood Dively, brother to Sharon Muir & Robin & Janet Dively & the late Marcia Serio.
Nieces Tina & Bobby Morgan, Shannon Muir & Angela Dively and nephews Mike Serio, Bobby Muir, JR & Nick Dively. Woody has a great niece, Katelyn Jovinelli, and 4 great nephews Zack & Steve Vannoy, Kyle Serio & Joey Morgan.
Woody always gave more than he asked for and was willing to help out anyone who asked, without asking for anything in return. He enjoyed giving and didn't know how to take a compliment. Woody was stronger than any man we've ever known. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his sons, Tony and Danny while playing golf or fishing.
Woody loved to travel and hoped one day to return to Ireland and perhaps one day the Great Barrier Reef with his wife Deirdre. He also loved to do home improvement projects and was a pretty handy carpenter. He loved old movies and would watch anything John Wayne was in, as well as his favorite movie, Jaws.
Family and friends can sign his guestbook at the family owned Beall Funeral Home website (6512 NW Crain HWY. RTE 3 South, Bowie, MD 20715). A celebration of life will be held and limited to immediate family and friends and colleagues who had day to day contact with Woody due to COVID restrictions and guidelines at the Elks Lodge in Gambrills, MD on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
