Hill, Stout Jack died peacefully December 4, 2019 with his family by his side.
Jack was born to the late Stout Jack Hill Sr. and Maggie Kirby on a farm in Timmonsville, South Carolina. He grew up in the great depression working on a tobacco farm. He was the youngest of four children; now all deceased.
Jack married in November 1942 to Annie Lou Jordan of Florence, South Carolina. Jack left South Carolina in 1942 and moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as he determined farm life was not an occupation that he wanted to pursue as a career.
Shortly after he was married to his beloved wife Ann, he was drafted into the Army Air Corps. He served as a radio/radar technician during the war and was present on D-day plus one during the invasion of Normandy in 1944.
He fought in France, Belgium, and Germany and was present at the Battle of the Bulge. He fought in the Battle of Normandy, northern France, Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of Germany. He was awarded the European Theatre Medal with three bronze service stars and a good conduct medal.
After returning from the war in 1945, he returned to Philadelphia and bought a home in Upper Darby Pennsylvania to work at the Philadelphia Naval yard
In September 1963 he moved to Bowie Maryland and worked for the Navy in Crystal City Virginia.
During his tenure working for the Navy he became the only civilian Project Manager. At that time, he worked in a highly classified position. His duties included upgrading security systems at nuclear sites and his last assignment prior to retirement was upgrading electronic security systems for the naval fleet.
He was an active member of the Collington lodge 230 and was a past Worshipful Master. He was also an avid fisherman and Captain of his boat (Ajacque).
Jack is survived by his four children: Lou Ellen (Thomas) Sullivan, twin sons Ronald (Janice) and John Donald (Tina) and Jacquelyn (Richard) Fiora. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Patrick (Holly), Christopher Fiora, Patti (Jeff) Campbell, Matt Swope, Ryan (Casey) and Matthew Fiora, Carla and Carissa Hill and two deceased grandchildren Jimmy Hill and Janie Means. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren which include Serena Hill, Declan and Darcy Sullivan, Gianna Fiora, Maisie and Maddox Campbell and the late Jaxson Campbell.
