Susannah Marguerite Andre Plews

Susannah Marguerite Andre Plews, 53, a resident of Crofton, Maryland, passed away on December 6, 2023 after a five-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Susannah was born to Peter and Linda Andre on October 11, 1970 in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1988 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton College in 1992 and a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from Purdue University in 1996. After graduating, she started her career in hospitals as a speech pathologist in Seattle and Pittsburgh. Later, she continued her work as a speech pathologist in the Anne Arundel County Public School system and found her passion working with elementary school students at Shady Side, Davidsonville, and Germantown Elementary Schools. In her 19-year career, she helped around 1,000 students.

Susannah was a strong, resilient, and compassionate woman, whose love had no limits, especially for her family. She loved family gatherings and talking with friends. As a youngster, she enjoyed many years of competitive swimming with the Naval Academy Junior Swim Team. While in high school and college, she was an enthusiastic member of cross-country teams. She was always happy outdoors - hiking in the woods, gardening, running through the neighborhood, playing ultimate frisbee, taking long walks with her dog Maya, or venturing out to explore new places in the United States and beyond.

Susannah is survived by her spouse Jim Plews; daughter Sophia Cloyd; stepchildren Robby and Lauren Plews; parents, Peter and Linda Andre of Annapolis; and brother Michael Andre and his partner, Amanda Huron, of Hyattsville, MD.

Friends are invited to celebrate Susannah's life on Saturday, January 27th. The service will start at 10:30am, with a reception to follow at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, MD at 333 Dubois Road, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.
