Ted William Day, Sr, age 73, a resident of Bowie, MD for over 25 years and previously of Montgomery County, MD, passed away on Saturday December 10th, surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.
Born on March 26, 1949; in Brunswick, Maine to the late Kenneth and Martha Day, Ted graduated from Gaithersburg High School. Ted made his career as Executive Account Manager, working for General Electric for over 20 years. Ted also served in the Army as an E5 stationed at West Point.
Ted was known for his love of family and spending as much time with them as he could. He loved and was loved by so many dear friends.
Ted, Poppie, Dad, Grampy or Uncle, as the kids called him; he loved weekends on the bay and family trips to Maine where they could all be together. Ted enjoyed anything sports related; football, NASCAR, fishing and golf, so much so that Ted could always be found on the golf course, in his yard hitting balls, fishing off the dock or watching his favorite teams on TV.
Ted is pre-deceased by his grandparents, his parents, his sister Sherry Deanna Day, his brothers, Clyde Lee Wilson, Bruce Robert Day Sr, Paul Myron Wilson and Kenneth Herbert Day, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 17 years (27 years), Terry Day; his two children, Ted Day Jr and his wife April of Gaithersburg, MD and Krista and husband Steve Knill of Frederick, MD, two sisters, Pauline Bethea of Warrenton, VA and Cindy McGrew of Clarksburg, MD, 6 grandchildren, Mason, Katelyn, Devin, Christopher, Tyler and Allie as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on December 22, 2022 from 2 – 4pm at Beall’s Funeral Home in Bowie, MD.
