In Loving Memory of Teresa Wabingga Lugue
Teresa Wabingga Lugue, a loving, kindhearted, strong and selfless soul, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 74, surrounded by those who cherished her most. She joined her late husband Benigno Lampa Lugue; and now, most recently, her daughter, Lisajean Lugue Safford. She was not only a devoted mother but also a beacon of generosity and strength to everyone she encountered. To her, family went beyond blood—everyone she met became family, and she was always ready to offer her help and support to anyone in need.
Her unmatched work ethic was a testament to the love she had for her family. Every hour she worked, and every sacrifice she made, was driven by her unwavering desire to provide a better life for those she loved. She faced life’s challenges head-on, embodying resilience and grace until her very last day.
Beyond her strength and compassion, Teresa had an incredible passion for dancing. Known for her joyful energy and unforgettable dance moves, she brought life to every Zumba class she attended. She was always excited to teach others her latest moves or share her favorite dance routines, spreading joy to all. She was also deeply involved in Mabuhay, a Filipino community, where she shared her love for culture by teaching traditional folk dances to people of all ages. Her dedication not only preserved cherished traditions but also brought joy and unity to everyone who danced alongside her.
Those who knew Teresa will remember her warmth, her endless compassion, and her incredible strength. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and boundless love. She is survived by her daughter Edna Wabingga Sugatan and son-in-law Nathanial Sugatan, her son Eric Wabingga Lugue and daughter-in-law Maryann Lugue, her son-in-law Forrester Safford, her daughter Jocelyn Lugue Tyndale and son-in-law Robert Tyndale. She is also survived by her granddaughter Hannah Sugatan, grandsons Ethan Sugatan and Liam Lugue, and grand furbabies Kolbe, Raegan, Leeloo, and Bruno, who will continue to honor her memories by living their lives with the same passion, joy, and care she always showed.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 12:30pm at Ascension Catholic Church, 12700 Lanham Severn Road, Bowie MD 20720. Repass to follow at Bates Hall after the funeral service.
