Terrence (Terry) Michael O’Brien, age 62, died on August 29, 2021, in his home in Bowie, Maryland, after a long fight with cancer. Terry was born on May 29, 1959 in Washington, DC, to the late George Terrence (Terry) and Patricia E. O’Brien. He was a loving father to his son, Dunecan, and daughter, Cassidy.
In addition to his two children, his future son-in-law, Adrian Murillo, and his "damn" dog Ollie, he is survived by his nine siblings and many in-laws, Ellen O’Brien (Russell Souder), Katherine Kramer (Kirk), Mary O’Brien (Wayne Hewitt), Daniel (Michelle), John, Robert, Patrick (Teresa), Peggy Doyle (Thomas) and Bernadette O’Brien-New (Charles New, deceased), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry was raised in Lanham and Glenn Dale, Maryland, and has a great affection for his years growing up there. In addition to his love for the beach, the pool, sports, music and creativity in building things, Terry's biggest joy came from being with people. He delighted in spending time with cherished family and friends, including many life-long friends. He loved life and is remembered for his witty sense of humor and laughter that would brighten any room! He saw humor in the little things in life and people in a way that made you know he was thinking of you.
Visitation will be held at the Ascension Catholic Church (12700 Lanham Severn Rd, Bowie, MD 20720) on Wednesday, September 1 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church on Thursday, September 2 at 10:00am followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery (8000 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD 20735).
