Theresa Carol Fell, affectionately known as Fee to her family and friends, was born June 18, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to William and Margaret Fell who preceded her in death. Theresa answered the call when Jesus whispered in her ear on Sunday, January 26, 2020.
Theresa was the youngest of 10 children; preceded in death by Linwood (Pete) Evans, Sr., Edward (Ed) Evans, Sr., Emmariah (Mariah) Perkins, Joseph (Joe) Evans, Sr., Otha Evans, William (Bill) Evans and Henry (Hank) Evans, Sr. She is survived by two siblings: Nathaniel (Nate) Evans and Arlene Clyburn. She attended the Philadelphia Public School system and graduated from Overbrook High School in 1955.
She met the love of her life, Rudolph S. Rice and was happily married for 31 years before Rudolph went home to be with the Lord. From that union four children were born: Kevin (Alicia) of Smyrna, Tennessee, Dale (deceased), Pamela (Gary) Griffin of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Terence of Bowie, Maryland. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always active in the educational endeavors and extracurricular activities of her children and family. Some of her hobbies included playing Pinochle and cooking. She loved to experiment with new recipes. Her family members loved her fried chicken and world-famous cabbage, especially her cousin Darlene whom she taught to prepare it.
She was a faithful member of National Temple Baptist Church where she served on the usher board until her health prevented her from continuing. Theresa (Fee) was a Virtuous Woman. In addition to her worship at National Temple she would attend the Noon day Hour of Power Bible Study presented by the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church of Philadelphia on Tuesdays under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Alyn E. Waller – Senior Pastor.
Always active in the community, she worked at polling stations during election periods and tutored youth throughout the Philadelphia Public School systems.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her siblings: Arlene Clyburn of Chicago Heights and Nathaniel Evans of Philadelphia; three children; 6 grandchildren: Qiana, Uriah (Lekia), Tameka, Donald, Gary Griffin Jr., and Shawntia D. Griffin; 5 great grandchildren: Ashanti, Arnell, Khalil, Shatirah D. Brown, and Semiyah L. Griffin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly; with special affection for Alphonso Bethel, Brenden Mims, Bobby Mims and Mark Evans.
