Thomas Andrew Felbinger, 91, of Severna Park, Maryland passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24th at his BrightView Senior home.
Tom, born in Baltimore on June 21, 1933, was the third of five children to John J. and Eleanor (Regenhardt) Felbinger. At seventeen he joined the Air Force and traveled to many parts of the world. While in Germany Tom woos, wins and weds lovely Helga. Three wonderful children and sixty-four years later his beloved Helga passes away.
After retiring from the Air Force, Tom works in the private sector, where his keen technical abilities in satellite communications enables him to retire relatively young. Tom and Helga enjoyed many memorable vacations, cruises and adventures. They often recalled Alaska, the Panama Canal, family and friends.
Tom, an avid sports watcher, especially enjoyed NASCAR racing and football. His favorite teams were the Ravens, Redskins/Commanders and the Maryland Terps. He also enjoyed watching news and playing card games. And being Opa to his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Thomas A. Felbinger is survived by two daughters, Patricia Felbinger and Linda Crawford; one son Thomas Felbinger, Jr.; and his youngest sister, Janet Williman. “Opa” or “Pop” is survived by six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Tom’s memory will survive in the hearts of those he left behind. A celebration of life will take place on April 17, 2025, at VA Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032 at 11:30 am and then the luncheon following at Kurtz’s Beach, 2070 Kurtz Avenue, Pasadena from 12:45 pm – 3:45 pm. Donations may be made to your favorite charity.
