Thomas P. Giles Sr., 80, of Gambrills, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 18, 2020.
Thomas was born in Brockton, MA, December 7, 1939. He grew up in Danvers, MA. He graduated from Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine and earned an Administration of Justice degree from American University.
Thomas was married to Jeannette Giles on November 21, 1959; they were married for sixty years.
Thomas served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Presidential Guard for President Eisenhower. He was a police officer for the D.C. Police Department for twenty five years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, antiquing, traveling to Cape Cod with Jeannette, and was a Master Trunk Restorer.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Jeannette, his children, Lynn and her husband Jim Rambo, Thomas Jr., Shawn Giles and his wife Gene, and Timothy Giles and his wife Megan, and his grandchildren, Kasey, Matthew Rambo and his wife Monica, Kelly and her husband Joshua Spadaro, Reilly, Emma, Timothy Jr., and Sean Thomas, and great-grandchild, Reagan Spadaro.
Family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Beall Funeral Home from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. A memorial service will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 11am. Father Paul Sparklin will be officiating. A private burial will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005 or the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202. The family of Thomas P. Giles wishes to thank the staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center and Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support.
