On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Thomas (Tom) M. Hollis, 70, passed away at home after a 7-year battle related to a long-term illness. He was surrounded by his wife Sacha and friends. Tom was born on September 29, 1953, in Piqua, Ohio, and was one of three children born to Walter Thomas Hollis and Betty Joe Hollis (Swiger). Tom has two sisters, Cherie Pickard of Virginia Beach, VA and Mary Sullivan of Spring City, TN. He was predeceased by his parents; and his previous wife Emily (Vaughn).
Tom’s family moved to Sidney, Ohio where he graduated from Fairlawn High School in 1971. Upon completion of high school, Tom enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Crypto Material Specialist until June,1988. Upon leaving the Navy in June of 1988, Tom served as the National Secure Communications Manager for the US Attorney’s Office and the US Marshals Service in Washington D.C. He retired from Federal Service in 2009.
Tom was an avid angler and car enthusiast. He owned dozens of rods and reels and two very fast vehicles: a 2000 Ford F150 SVT Lightning and a 2016 Plymouth Challenger, 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker Coupe.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Tracy Hollis and wife, Sonia, of Manassas VA; his son Michael Hollis and wife, Alejandra, and granddaughters, Maria, and Sarah--all of Scottsdale, Arizona.
A private family Celebration of Life observance for Tom will be held at a future date.
