Tina “Shelley” Newman (Jackson) died unexpectedly at her home on August 27th in Gambrills, Maryland at the age of 54.

Shelley is survived by her mom, Mary Jackson; her loving husband, Terry; her brother, Rodney (Heather); her children Ashley, Elizabeth (Alex) and Jessica (Riley); her six grandchildren (Joey, Conner, Gabriel, Marisol, Eli, Reese) and two neices (Makenna, Avery). She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Wanda Johnson, and Jesse and Marjorie Jackson; her father, Jimmy; and her son, Brian.

Shelley was born on February 5th, 1969 in Fairfield, Alabama to Mary and Jimmy Jackson. In 1983 the family moved to Florida where Shelley attended Lake Mary High School. On October 15, 2005 she married Terry Newman, having been married over 15 years. Over the years she explored many different careers, but in recent years has been settled in Maryland, taking care of her husband and others.

Shelley was a charismatic woman who never met a stranger. She fiercely loved her children, family and friends. She was the ultimate example of a fighter, having overcome cancer and many tough obstacles throughout her life. She enjoyed playing darts and cheering on the Crimson Tide. Shelley will be remembered as a loving mother who only wanted the best for her children.

The Celebration of Life is scheduled for September 24th, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, at the Lake Mary Community Center. All those who knew and loved Shelley are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the family.
